I am Curiously Inspired.

I move through life and time, thinking and doing, watching and taking part, making peace and fighting, always trying to do the best I can, getting despondent – and carrying on, like so many of us. I don’t claim to be special. And I now know that I will probably never set the world alight, much as I wanted to when I was younger, although I can still dream.

Here, I want to set out my thoughts and comments on anything that interests me.

Since I started this blog, my interest in politics and economics became stronger than it had been been. Straight away the blog started developing in a somewhat unexpected direction, more serious than anticipated, and it started developing me in return. This is partially because its start coincided with the worst financial collapses of September 2008, a rather somber and unsettling experience for most of us.

I would prefer to remain anonymous as this gives me a greater freedom of self-expression. For those looking to understand my background, it is as follows – I have a degree in Finance obtained some time ago, an accountancy qualification, and a decade’s experience working in investment banking support areas. I left the corporate world in 2008 to work for our own IT business.

My nickname comes from a line in my own poem which starts

Curiously inspired

By the symmetry of being…

It is meant to express the sentiment that everything in life repeats itself time and time again like moving on a never-ending spiral. Sometimes up, and sometimes down, eventually one ends up somewhere similar to where we have been before – or if very unlucky – maybe even back at the starting point; but hopefully at a place higher up on the journey.
